The “Children of the Worm” Downloadable content for Back 4 Blood introduces new Cleaner & Act

Children of the Worm, the second expansion for Back 4 Blood, is scheduled for release on August 30 and includes a lot of interesting new features, including a new Cleaner and Act.
On the official Back 4 Blood social media sites, a sneak glimpse of the future Children of the Worm expansion was published today, providing further details about the content that gamers can look forward to.
Back 4 Blood gamers will be able to play as “Prophet” Dan, who is described as a gun-toting, end-of-the-world preacher, starting with the new Cleaner. Players will also be able to take advantage of the brand-new Act 5 campaign to put this Cleaner to the test and see how he performs to other Cleaners.

The DLC increases the difficulty even further by bringing new foes, new life-saving weaponry like the Lockjaw gun and Bear Trap, as well as new cards and accessories. You can also expect eight unique character skins and 12 exclusive weapon skins in the Children of the Worm DLC if you enjoy cosmetics.

For those who aren’t sure whether to buy the DLC but are interested in finding out more about it, Turtle Rock has noted (as reported by VGC) that if one player in a Back 4 Blood party has the Children of The Worm unlocked, all players in that party will have access to the DLC’s content, even if they don’t own the DLC themselves.

If you have a friend who is more likely to buy DLC than you are or who already has the Annual Pass for Back 4 Blood, this surely sounds useful for those who prefer to test before they buy as it offers you the chance to do just that. You can get the Children of the Worm addition for free if you currently have the Back 4 Blood Annual Pass. In that case, it will be sold individually.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 seems to have a new lead writer after 15 years in development.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 was included in our list of ten games we can’t believe are still technically in development for a variety of reasons.

That decision was made for a reason. Beyond Good and Evil 2 was announced in 2008, and we’ve been doing “it’s still happening” posts since at least 2014(opens in new tab), but it’s still just a title and some concept art after all these years: Ubisoft won’t even commit to maybe—maybe!—having it out in 2024. Nonetheless, there are some signs of life, most recently in the Arellano was the narrative designer on Super Evil Megacorp’s 2015 MOBA Vainglory before joining Ubisoft account shows that she also worked as a writer at Deep Silver Volition (her Twitter account says she worked on the Saints Row reboot) and as a narrative designer at Blizzard on World of Warcraft. That’s an impressive run.

“We are very happy to welcome Sarah, who is one of the most recent recruits on Beyond Good and Evil 2,” a Ubisoft spokesperson told PC Gamer in an email. “The development team is working hard to keep its promise to its community.”

At this point, no one knows what it means for Beyond Good and Evil 2. The hiring of a new lead writer is the closest thing to a real sign of life we’ve seen in years (and the Ubisoft rep noted that the company is hiring for other positions at its Montpellier studio, which is working on the game), but it’s also easy to interpret it as a sign that the entire project is bogged down.
