Rainbow Six Siege’s New MouseTrap Anti-Cheat Targets Spoofers and Abusive Chat in Latest Effort to Combat Cheating

Rainbow Six Siege is no stranger to cheaters, but Ubisoft’s latest addition to the game’s ever-changing roster of protection systems may be the solution to its most irritating problem: spoofers. In response to community complaints about input spoofing, Ubisoft has introduced MouseTrap, an anti-cheat system that identifies and targets players who falsify their locations using various tools.

If caught spoofing, MouseTrap will add extra latency to the player’s inputs, which will ramp up over several matches if they continue to cheat. However, the system only affects spoofers, ensuring that the rest of the player base can play without disruption. MouseTrap is also accompanied by a new voice chat tracker that automatically mutes abusive players and gives them a set of warnings and penalties.

Rainbow Six Siege has unfortunately become synonymous with hacking and cheating, but with MouseTrap and the new voice chat system, players may finally be able to play in peace.
